In short

Economic runs on your Mac. Your economies — conversations, goals, agent work, files, ledger and memory — stay in your user Library. Agent work is sent to the model provider you connect (OpenAI through the Codex CLI, or Anthropic through Claude Code) under your agreement with them. Michael Callow receives data only if you email. There is no telemetry, no analytics in the app, no ads and no sale of personal data.

What stays on your Mac

All Economic data is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/economic/v1. The local service listens only on 127.0.0.1 and requires a token stored owner-only in that folder. Optional decision-provider API keys are stored there owner-only and are never shown to agents. Economic stores no payment credentials; any you use stay with the payment executor you configure.

Model work

When agents work, the runtime you connected sends instructions, file contents, page text and images to its provider. Economic does not receive a copy. If you enable fast tool decisions, a compact description of each covered tool call (tool, arguments, goal summary, policy and cost context — no transcripts or credentials) is sent to the decision provider you chose.

Web and Mac access

Agents browse through their runtime's tools from your internet connection; websites see your IP address. In the default workspace mode, Codex agents can write only inside the economy folder. If you choose full access, agents act with your account's access.

economic.run

The website is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request logs. Downloads, the install script and update checks fetch files from economic.run; they send no account information.

Email

If you write to support, your message is used only to help you.

Children

Economic is not directed at children under 13.
